$20 Million Investment by Freight Technologies in Trump Coins to Impact Trade Policy

A foreign trucking logistics firm has committed to purchasing up to $20 million of President Donald Trump’s cryptocurrency coins in a bid to shape the administration’s trade policies, a step experts cautioned Trump was cultivating when he began this endeavor.

Freight Technologies Inc. CEO Javier Selgas stated in a Wednesday press release that buying Trump coins would be a good way to support free, balanced, and fair trade between Mexico and the U.S.

The company announced in a same-day Securities and Exchange Commission filing that it would use net proceeds from selling bonds to purchase TRUMP coins. The action has been attacked by ethics professionals and advocacy organizations for perpetuating corruption and impropriety in sway over commerce policy.

Despite inquiries from HuffPost, Freight Technologies and Selgas did not respond to the inquiries. There was no reply from Trump White House staff or from GetTrumpMemes.com, the site selling the Trump coins. GetTrumpMemes.com recently declared a contest that gives the first 220 Trump coin holders a meal at the president’s golf course in Sterling, Virginia, on 22nd May, and an invite-only reception to the first 25 coin holders.
